My sweet girl lost her first tooth!! And now she’s got her second loose tooth! Olivia is just 5 years young, I can’t believe we are already to this stage of losing teeth! Time has surely flown by since becoming a mama and I am amazed at the way Via gas changed and grown. She’s learned SOOO much and she’s changing into to this sweet little girl. (cue mama tears)
Just to compare- teeth to one missing and another loose check out Via’s 5th Birthday portraits back in the fall. I feel so emotional over this milestone, I just can’t believe getting her adult teeth is happening right now. And also I’m totally squeamish over it- she’s really enjoying creeping me out with her dangling teeth.
I’ve got to share the story of how she actually lost the first tooth. It’s quite fun! Via’s tooth had been pretty loose- several people tried to talk her into letting them pull it out. It was never me. I’m not about that. And she did not want anyone to touch it. So one night we were eating dinner and the kids had excused themselves (ahh finally a minute just me and Nick! ha)
The kids were off playing in Olivia’s room, sounded like jumping on the bed and such- not a big deal I guess. Eventually, I got up and started clearing dinner and then I heard some commotion. Then I heard Olivia talking to Everett saying, “But where’s my tooth!?” I looked up at Nick and was like oooh I think it’s time we go check on things!!
Olivia took off running and Nick followed her, I sat back with Everett for a minute inspecting the damage of the room. We waited a few minutes to see if Nick could get her to open her mouth. Finally they came back to her room and she still had her face covered. Nick knew, I could see it on his face. So I asked her and she tried answering me without opening her mouth but obviously I got all excited!! And she burst into laughter!! Sure enough, her tooth was gone!
This lead to all four of us crawling around the floor, checking the bed and trash can where she was spitting blood. And then thankfully I spotted it laying on a piece of baby doll clothes! I so regret picking it up, because just gross. So gross. But thankfully we found it and she was able to put it under her pillow that night!
And that’s how you can kick yourself in the face and lose your first tooth!! I love you soo much Olivia and I’m so glad you had a very exciting first lost tooth experience!
Here are a few of our favorite photos we took with her little mouth changing oh so much. Ev had to join too!
