my name is Carissa, I'm married to my high school sweetheart Nick and we have three wildly beautiful and joyful kiddos! We live in upstate South Carolina and we absolutely love it! I'm a portrait photographer and recipe creator/taster/photographer/coach! If it has to do with real food & wellness for your mind & body then I'm your girl! I've lost over 125 pounds since having my first baby in 2017!
I love the Lord and find so much joy in these creative outlets, feeling blessed every day as I get to mama and create food to nourish our bodies.
Although if you're a mom then you already know that the role of being a mama is the absolute best role you could have. My sweet & spicy Olivia is 7 years old, and my chill and loving little man Everett is 5! Lorelei is 18 months, loves saying no and climbing on absolutely every surface! she's got lots of things to learn from the 2 bigs haha
I am teaching them every day to learn and love real food and all the beautiful things it does for our bodies. Also chasing, teaching, and laughing with them always.
I've lost over 125 pounds eating real food!! (not killing myself in the gym or counting anything!) It's a beautiful way to transform your life from the inside out- trust me you will never regret learning to eat real food!
I am beyond blessed and thrilled that you are joining me here!! You can read my getting healthy journey here!

Do the work, understand that it is work. and it's work that pays off!
The more you do it the easier it will become and the easier it will be to whip something up on the fly even without a recipe!

If there is any cutting/washing that could be done ahead of time (or if you're using the same veggie twice in a week ) then go ahead and do it all at once!
Make ahead muffins, pancakes, breads, oatmeal mixes, chia pudding etc.

If you're not prepared then its going to make eating at home difficult and make you want to grab convenience or fast food! Keep simple ingredients on hand and make your meal plan & then shop for at least a weeks worth of groceries!
