Earlier this month we did our family portraits in Downtown Greer, you’ve got to see the variety we got!
I wanted to go with more of a cityscape/casual feel for this session and I feel like I got it! We were able to get 3 different scenes just walking a couple minutes here and there.
The kiddos always take sometime to warm up in front of the camera. If I remember correctly both of them fell asleep on the way. Ha! Everett was like out of it most of the session, just in his feels. You will see!
No surprise having littles means you want lots of photos of them and with them. Obviously, I know that is not the easiest thing to do!!
I have been thinking lately about how to make family sessions easier, or less stressful for families. I’ve come up with a couple things to share! If you have any thing that works wonders for your hubs and kids, send them my way!
My thoughts:
Having several sessions throughout the year definitely takes the pressure off finding the “perfect” outfit and location. And getting the glowy light I love. I’m not sure if other mama’s care as much about the glow as I do. But it makes me happy so I always try to schedule our session on a pretty day.
Basically I’m encouraging you to do MORE portraits with your family!! It gets easier!
Second- I full support bribes for good behavior!!! I packed 4-5 snacks in my purse to carry around. With it being close to dinner time they would need a pick me up. We brought fruit strips, some kind of bar and for the end we had our favorite HU chocolate bar! Knowing they would get messy, we just went with it! I love those photos of us sharing our favorite treat!
I always aim to get a good photo of us all looking, me & Nick, kids individual/together. If we can get pairings with each kiddo and parent. The images of the kids just being themselves and snuggling are some of my favorites.
Enjoy our family portraits in downtown Greer and these fun tips that helped with our family session!!
Hugs,
Carissa
