Our spicy little girl is 17 months old, she is full of life, smiles, hugs, kisses and absolute happiness. We could not be more blessed to get to raise this wonderful little girl of ours. I find myself looking into her eyes random times throughout the day and I feel like my heart might actually explode realizing how much I love her and how proud I am of everything that she is learning.
It has been several months since Olivia’s last blog post so there was been a lot going on like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, and we finally moved! We have had such a busy season of life and a lot of happiness and activity going on around us. We had two thanksgiving meals and Olivia loved getting to eat and play with her cousins. She loves to eat, LOVES. The kids always get crazy excited when they are together.
Christmas was really fun this year since Olivia took interest in opening her presents, my favorite presents are the elephant muslin blankie I picked out, the yellow bulldozer Nick picked out and the outdoor swing that one of my sisters got her! We are just waiting until we can get the swing put up in our new fenced in backyard and get to play, come on spring we need you!!
Nick and I were able to go to our church’s Christmas event called Jingle Jazz, it was really a great show and I can’t wait to get our tickets for this year! Seriously the people at our church are so creative and and joyful, they make everything extra fun!
For New Years we went over to my sisters house, I barely made it to midnight, Nick and Olivia did not make it to midnight. haha It was a crazy house with the kids running around hyped up on sparkling cider and dancing! Olivia actually got a little wack in the noggin by a swinging arm and she acted like it didn’t even happen but I have video proof!
We moved mid January to our new place, we had to take all our belongings out of storage (over two years since we put it in) and go through and clean and we are still working on getting things organized and decorated. So if you come over in the next few months just avoid our one bedroom, it’s a little scary.
Valentines day was actually fun for me this year, I am not really a fan of the holiday but it was really fun making a valentines day box for Olivia out of her first ever shoe box. I cut the cute little opening in the top, and hot glued pink paper and hand cut hearts on it. I had my family make little valentines for her & I made a yummy dinner with homemade heart shaped brownies for dessert. We sat in our jams and opened up her valentines, she really loved opening and closing the box and looking through the slot!
I have been working the tax season at Block Advisors, per my usual the last six years. We have been really busy with me working almost full time and juggling normal things and then always running this business! I have been working hard on education from the lovely Katelyn James, creating content for the blog, putting myself on my instastories, and creating some really awesome material fro my bride and grooms! I have been working for months on nailing down a welcome package and it finally just came to me after tons of research and browsing around for something just as special and sweet as my brides. Nick is also in the beginning stages of creating his carpentry business. We have two new baby’s coming into my side of the family this year. (Get used to news likes this, with seven sisters I’m sure I’ll be sharing this news for years to come)!!
BACK to Olivia!! Our sweet girl is a whopping TWENTY pounds! haha She had her 15month appointment a month late because her doctor got sick and we had to cancel and then we were all sick and we had to cancel! We finally made it into the doctor and Via as just not having it. She didn’t want a nurse or doctor to touch her or look at her or talk to her. It was a rough visit with shots and all.
She is still wearing size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes! I think we may be moving into a couple 18 month clothes soon, but even some of her 12mo pants are still big on her. She has a bunch of teeth, I tried to count but she bites really hard so I limit myself. Olivia’s favorite things to do in our new house are: Stand on the dishwasher door, take things out of the dishwasher (dirty & clean), weigh herself on my scale, get ice cubes out of the freezer, wave goodbye to people through the windows in the door, and she loves sitting inside the kitchen cabinets. Her room is coming along slowly, and we have plans for Nick to build her a toddler bed once she learns to sleep through the night. Oh yeah, still waking up during the night and still nursing. I love the bond that we share while she is nursing and I just really need her to make the decision to stop nursing, but I know her decision would be to NEVER stop. Hahaha
I’m currently working on a blush colored finger knit blanket for her, she’s been sleeping with my baby blanket that my mom and aunt made for me when I was a baby. She loves taking all of her wubbanubs from her crib and grabbing the blanket when she wakes up. She will go back to her room and pull the blanket through the crib rails just so she can walk around the house, dragging it along the floor or laying on top of it on the floor. It just warms my heart that she loves my baby blanket as much as I have.
Olivia eats basically everything, her new favorite snacks are Trader Joes puff cereals and medjool dates (sometimes with peanut butter in them). She has been liking chicken more and more and it always surprises me when I see her eating it and looking like she enjoys it! Ha
We love you sweet girl!!
